About Covered 2.0

• Teams of 15 volunteers in the UK and 30 in Zimbabwe made the event a success

In aid of clothing, underwear, shoes plus the shipping costs for the amenities donated and purchased to uplift the adopted and chosen Villages of Domboshava, Zimbabwe. The villages are deprived, are below the poverty line and do not have many services that can avail the community to more opportunities in life

This Project was born in 2021 Intra-Pandemic era. Though we had a target to initiate a charity every 18 months or so, we were compromised by other circumstances in the early part of 2021. However, we had a gnawing desire to host a project and would appear that God heard our heart.

We received an unexpected call from one of our Sponsors from 2020. He had a friend whose mother sadly passed on from Covid-19 in early 2021. The mother was a Clothing Designer and once owned factories around London so had a lot of stock over the years. The daughter decided to donate the remaining legacy of stock from her Mothers life’ work. Mambano Projects was endorsed by our previous sponsor to the donors. Covered 2.0 2021 was born and we received over 500 kgs of clothes/material stock from the Ozkan family, we couldn’t believe it!!

As this was not enough, we received a call from one of our faithful sponsors. They informed us that a young mother who had recently lost a new born baby weeks post birth had sent a word.
She was still going through the grief of her baby’s loss and not ready to release her clothes. However, when she saw Covered 2.0 poster, she immediately got the release to donate all her precious baby’s clothes to us. She hand delivered all the clothes to us herself. These will be delivered to Harare Maternity Hospital (Gomo).

This Project ended on a sad but almost uncanny note for us. One of our 2021 sponsors donated her seed to us in early August. Tragically the next message we received was she had passed away from Covid-19 before the end of that very month of August

Our 2021 Project had been dedicated to those lost to Covid-19 and it ended with a loss to Covid-19 

We shipped about 26 boxes of amenities and named it Covered 2.0 – That the Lord continues to cover the villages of Domboshava as he did with Covered 2020.
