The Mambano Projects Foundation is a charity based in the UK, Operations Team is in Zimbabwe and aims to grow in other parts of Africa and the UK. The Foundation seeks to enhance the lives of their adopted village of Domboshava, Zimbabwe in particular.
The Founders believe that we can each do our part by giving back and blessing those in need of life’s basic necessities. We chose this village with a focused approached to avoid spreading ourselves thinly.
Our vision is to actually see the development of the work and quantify the growth aspect of the projects we embark on.
It all began on a prayer and exercise walk around the neighbourhood.
Having gone through a life changing spiritual growth experience, the founder felt God compel her to begin initiating projects annually to give back to humanity and illicit change in the lives of nations with the resources around her. Ironically, the first project The Lord lay on her heart was a sponsored ‘Walk and Worship’ event. She gathered a team of wilful members at church and they raised funds for the initiative CLOJ (Christmas Lunch On Jesus) – a Jesus House London outreach project that provides Christmas Hampers for those in need of in boroughs of London. From then on, the projects became more specific and targeted every year (please see Our Projects page) and they grew. Project 2 and 3 ended up back in Africa where it began for us from birth, a continent with great needs and ravaged by extreme and unlawful poverty lines.
On a particular trip to Zimbabwe around 2019, the founder had an encounter whilst visiting family in the villages of Domboshava. A joyful group of young children came to welcome her, her mother and siblings with nothing but pure love and contend-ness. However, she was struck by some of the children’s torn clothes and their nakedness as some had no underwear. This encounter was triggered a year and half later during the pandemic as she looked at her full and unused wardrobes – The Lord reminded her at that moment of those children and laid ‘Covered Clothing Project’ on her heart. This led to the Covered 2020 and 2021 clothing projects and the adoption of that village.
To that end, we at Mambano now focus on eradicating socio-economic, education and period poverty for the community of Domboshava and other parts of Africa as we are led. In recent projects, we have raised funds that have enabled us to ship donated clothes, shoes, sanitary pads and underwear to help bring the love of God, self-worth, confidence and hope to our chosen beneficiaries. We can all do something, however small. A small act wins an enormous fight (Atswinya Arwa)
